Available Positions

Senior Front-End Engineer

Overview

While this job description is written to give you a sense of what this role may entail, the exact responsibilities will ultimately be tailored to the person we hire. If your skills are in the ballpark of what we’re looking for, we definitely encourage you to apply. Play up the unique skills and experience that will make you a valuable asset to the team!

Chorus Connection has some big product-related goals for the future, and we’re looking for a senior front-end engineer to help us achieve those goals. Short-term, we’re looking to update some outdated parts of our tech stack (i.e. rewrite a bunch of AngularJS code using modern Angular). Longer-term, we want to build a couple ambitious new products, plus make some big upgrades to the core parts of our platform.

Attractive Traits

This is not a requirements checklist, but rather our fantasy for a likely non-existent perfect applicant. If you’re an experienced Angular developer and you have a passion for the work we do, we’d love for you to apply.

  • Have 5+ years experience working as a front-end engineer.

  • Have deep experience with Angular.

  • Have some familiarity with legacy AngularJS.

  • Have participated in a front-end rewrite of an existing product before - or built and launched a product from scratch.

  • Have some experience with the types of products we’re dreaming of building in the future (e.g. a patron CRM, robust ticketing with reserved seating, and a cold-fusion reactor).

  • Have opinions about great development practices to streamline delivery while encouraging product stability.

  • Have opinions about CSS/component libraries, and can contribute to our decision-making (including with regards to possible approaches to mobile development down the road).

  • Have experience incorporating accessibility features into front-end work.

  • Be an active and engaged part of the development process, bringing good ideas, highlighting unresolved edge cases, asking for clarifications early, and proactively communicating throughout.

  • Stay driven and motivated in a relatively unstructured, remote work environment.

  • Thrive in a job with a lot of responsibility - and a lot of creative input.

  • Have experience singing in a chorus (even better if there’s experience on the staff, board, or volunteer leadership team of a chorus).

  • Be excited about our vision, mission, and values.

A Sample Day in the Life

  • Participate in product conversations.

  • Build cool stuff you’ll use in your own choir.

  • Squash bugs.

  • Communicate regularly via Google Chat with colleagues (mostly when working on cross-departmental projects, but we also have an all-hands, shoot-the-breeze meeting 2 times a week to catch up and stay connected).

  • Share your product development dreams about how Chorus Connection can grow and do an even better job of making life easier for folks in the choral world.

Perks and Pay

  • Starting salary range is $100-150K, commensurate with experience.

  • Job offer will include a schedule of specific salary increases tied to company growth, consistent with other senior team members to keep us all aligned on company goals.

  • Stock options.

  • Annual stipend ($6K+) for a Health Reimbursement Arrangement (HRA) you can use to pay for insurance premiums or other health expenses.

  • Annual stipend ($2K) for chorus-related expenses (e.g. membership dues).

  • Annual stipend ($500) for fitness expenses.

  • 401K (but no matching).

  • Flexible hours, schedule, and location.

  • Unlimited PTO.

  • Do meaningful work alongside some pretty awesome fellow choir nerds. :)

Location

We are a 100% remote team. You will have the ability to work from anywhere in the US.
