Chorus Connection FAQs

How much does it cost?

Chorus Connection membership pricing is based on how many users your account will require. Monthly pricing starts as low as $24/month and annual pricing as low as $240/year. There is also a one-time setup fee which starts as low as $50 and varies dependent on chorus size.

More pricing information can be found on our pricing page.

Who counts as a “user”?

In Chorus Connection, a user is anyone with an email address associated with their profile who can log in and can receive emails sent from their chorus administrators via our communications tools.

How many users will my chorus need?

For adult choirs, the answer is simple: your users will be your singers, staff, and possibly your board members as well.

For youth choirs, the same general idea applies: your users will be your staff, board, parents/guardians (likely 1-2 per child), and any singers ages 13+ that you want to grant access to Chorus Connection.

What is an archived user?

Member profiles on Chorus Connection are assigned either an active or inactive status. Inactive statuses are typically given to folks who are no longer actively participating in the chorus, such as your alumni, and are considered archived users.

You can store an unlimited number of archived users in Chorus Connection (including full contact info, attendance records, payment history, and more) without it affecting your user limit. Profiles with an inactive status type won’t be able to log in, nor will they receive emails sent through the platform.

To learn more about archived users, please visit Archived Users FAQs.

What are the fees on payments made in the system?

All member payments collected on the Chorus Connection platform are charged a fee of 2.9% + 30¢ per transaction.

There are two types of fees associated with ticket orders: Chorus Connection ticket fees and credit card processing fees. Chorus Connection ticket fees are 2.5% + $1 per ticket. Credit card processing fees are 2.9% + 30¢ per ticket order. Choruses can choose whether to absorb these fees or pass them along to the ticket buyer.

For more information, please visit Payment FAQs and Ticketing FAQs.

Is there an app?

There is no app at this time. However, Chorus Connection is entirely web-based and is designed so that the site looks great no matter the size of your screen. Whether you’re on your desktop, laptop, tablet, or smartphone, you’ll be able to navigate Chorus Connection easily and intuitively.

Can I manage singer registration?

For now, Chorus Connection doesn’t handle singer registration. What our customers typically do is continue to collect registration information however they currently collect it—often through Google Forms, web forms, Constant Contact, etc. Once their singer information is collected, they can import that information (see below) to create all their user profiles at once. It’s a simple process, and we’ll walk you through it!

How does the bulk import work?

Our import requires that you have your data in a spreadsheet (csv file) with specific column headings. We have an import template available for download in the Manage>Members area of the site. This template has the exact column headings you’ll need to import the data. We recommend that you copy the info from your existing spreadsheet and paste it into that template before importing. Then, once the import is complete, your users will receive an email right away inviting them to set up their accounts.

How long will this take to implement?

This question won’t have the same answer for every chorus. Much of it depends on how much time you’re able to spend getting a few onboarding tasks completed: setting up the calendar, store, groups, member import spreadsheet, among some others. Highly motivated choirs with a dedicated administrator are up and running very quickly—some in just a couple of days!

What training and support will I receive?

Training and supporting our customers is a part of our business we take very seriously. When a chorus becomes a new customer, they immediately get connected with our Customer Success team to schedule an initial onboarding call. Because our team is so thorough and attentive, they often schedule one or more follow-ups to make sure things are going well and to answer any additional questions.

But it doesn’t end there; for the entire life of your membership with Chorus Connection, you’ll have access to our Customer Success team for whatever questions or suggestions you might have. We take great pride in making our customers feel like family!

How does email work in Chorus Connection?

Chorus Connection’s Groups feature enables you to create easy-to-manage email lists based on your active users.

Email lists look just like any other email address — altos@mychorus.chorusconnection.com, for example.

You can send emails to Chorus Connection email lists through your regular email account (Gmail, Outlook, etc.). Simply enter the email address as your recipient, compose your email as usual, and hit send!

Every person who is a member of that group in Chorus Connection will receive that email in their own personal email inboxes. It’s important to note that the email address that’s listed in their Chorus Connection member profile is the email address that will receive the email. That means that members can change their preferred email address at any time, and you don't have to worry about updating all of your lists/groups!

Perhaps best of all, in Chorus Connection, you can set up permissions so that only certain members can email these lists. Say goodbye to the dreaded 'reply all!'

What are Concerts in Chorus Connection?

Think of Concerts in Chorus Connection as organizational buckets — concert "cycles," if you will. Music files, riser charts, concert rosters, dues/payments, and calendar events all get associated with a Concert to help you think about your season more logically.

Many chorus rosters fluctuate from one concert cycle to the next. Having different Concerts set up in Chorus Connection (e.g. "December 2020" and "March 2021") allows singers to be on one roster and not the other. This is especially helpful for taking attendance and making riser charts. Organizing your music files by Concert also makes it easier for your singers to find the resources they need for learning their music.

Concerts are the key to great organization in Chorus Connection!
